FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

THE STONE CHIEFS UNVEIL A UNIQUE BRAND OF MODERN SOUTHERN ROCK ON THEIR ‘DRIVE ON’ DEBUT ALBUM

In an era when more and more musicians rely on electronics and software to get their art across, it’s refreshing to discover an up-and-coming act that hasn’t forgotten the foundation that rock music was built upon – the electrifying, rip-roaring sound of a real, live band playing together. That’s the exact approach the Raleigh, NC quintet, The Stone Chiefs, adopt on their recently-released debut album, ‘Drive On’ (via Grab ‘Em Records).

Consisting of members Dallas Perry (Lead Vocals), Aaron Wiig (Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Bass), Brian ‘BT’ Torrence (Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Bass), David Arnn (Lead Guitar, Rhythm Guitar, Bass), and  Michael ‘Twig’ Neece (Drums), The Stone Chiefs seek to melt faces worldwide with their riveting, guitar-driven assault and charged live show.  They recently set up shop at Studio 313 in Morrisville, NC where, under the watchful eye of producer Jeff Creed, the group recorded an exhilarating set of tunes recalling the finer moments of the Black Crowes, the Rolling Stones, and Kings of Leon – as evidenced by such standout tracks as the album-opening title track and “Let It Rain” among others.

The Stone Chiefs play vintage instruments to get their warm and familiar “down home sound”. Their guitar arsenal on ‘Drive On’ includes a 1972 Gibson Les Paul Black Beauty, an Epiphone Riviera, a modified Epiphone Sheraton II, and multiple Fender Stratocasters cranked through Dr. Z, Budda, Marshall, and Fender amplifiers.

North Carolina rock fans will not have to wait long to catch the Stone Chiefs on a nearby concert stage.  The Stone Chiefs will perform at the 9/3/11 Triad Music Fest in Greensboro, NC with Fuel, Lee Brice, and Lupe Fiasco and will continue their charge with an onslaught of local gigs throughout the fall and winter.

Authentic, classic rock sounds are needed now more than ever and those sounds are in no short supply on The Stone Chiefs’ debut album ‘Drive On’. So, plug-in, have a listen and enjoy the ride!
